The teaching philosophy and driving strategies taught by Love’s Safe Driving School were compiled in part by the experiences our owner, George Love, encountered during his years working as a California Highway Patrol Officer. His goal is to educate our future motorist and to give them the tools necessary to become safe and competent drivers.
All of our instructors are fully trained professionals licensed through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Every instructor is background checked, fingerprinted, and medically cleared through State and Federal agencies.
On the 15th of each month, we open the calendar to begin scheduling for the following month. Please call 2-4 weeks before your desired date for your next appointment to make sure you can get a date/time that works for your schedule.
If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please give our office at least a 24 hour notice to avoid a $40 cancellation fee. If it is outside our office hours, leave a message on our machine, it is time/date stamped.

The State of California requires all minors (under the age of 18) to complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, and hold their permit for a minimum of 6 months before they are eligible to take the DMV Drive Test. Each lesson is 2 hours in length and a total of 3 lessons are necessary to complete the 6-hour state requirement. Since the permit must be held for a minimum 6 months, we suggest spreading the 3 lessons out over the 6 months the student must hold their permit so we can follow up with the student through the learning process.
The first lesson is structured to introduce the student to driving and prepare them to drive with a licensed driver over the age of 25. The second lesson is a more advanced lesson in which our instructor will introduce them to the freeway and more difficult streets/traffic. The goal of the final lesson is to prepare the student for what to expect during the DMV Drive Test and to do a final evaluation of their skills.
For your convenience, we offer appointments 7 days a week and pick up from your desired location (most commonly home or school).
We also offer Behind-the-Wheel Training hours for adults (18yrs. Or older). Adults are taught in 1.5-hour increments and depending on their experience, the lessons can be personalized to provide focus on areas of concern. Commonly our adult clients choose to take our 4 lesson package and DMV option.
Our DMV option allows the student to use the “training car” for the DMV drive test. The DMV option is not available to a customer who has NOT driven with Love’s first. The use of the car requires at least 2 lessons with our school. For teens, the most common DMV option is where their drive test/use of a car is directly following the last 2-hour lesson. Keep in mind, if you would like to take advantage of this offer, our office staff will schedule the DMV on your behalf to ensure that your requested instructor and/or desired date are available.
If you have already scheduled your drive test, please call our office immediately to check availability.
